5 Years

Today marks 5 years that we have been married. 5 years ago we stood before God, our family and our friends and promised to be together forever. 

We started dating when I was a 19 year old college Sophomore... still a baby in this big world. Michael was 22, about to turn 23. A blind date. February 21, 2004. A month into dating he told me he loved me. For the first time ever I told a boy I loved him too.

Two plus years of long distance dating followed. In August of 2006 Michael moved to Rock Hill. In March 2007, he asked me to marry him. {Isn't it terrible that I do not remember the exact date?} Of course, I said yes.

We bought a house in April 2007. Wedding planning continued in full force. January 26, 2008 was here before we knew it. My Daddy gave me away. We said I do. We celebrated. We honeymooned. We began our life together as one.

In August 2009 we were so excited when we found out I was pregnant. On April 5, 2010 we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into this world. Such a huge blessing. The perfect addition to our little family. 

So here we are today. 5 years later. I still love him just as much today if not more than I did back then. But I won't lie and say it's a fairy tale. We have our ups and we have our downs. Some days I want to knock him silly, and I know he wants to do the same to me. Other days I just can't get enough of that sweet man. 

I think what really matters is that at the end of the day I love being Mrs. Wise. God knew what he was doing when he allowed us to cross paths. I am so thankful for that. 

I love you Mr. Wise. Here's to 50 more years of being stuck with me :)
